A new compatibility may be starting between Apple Vision Pro and Sony PSVR 2. A big move came from Apple and Sony.
Apple Vision Pro is said to be compatible with Sony PlayStation VR 2 (PSVR 2) controllers. This collaboration, expected to take place between the two technology giants, could solidify Vision Pro’s place in the world of games and applications and take the experience to a whole new level.
Apple Vision Pro and Sony PSVR 2 support may be on the way
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple Vision Pro and Sony PSVR 2 could soon merge. The move could significantly expand the gaming possibilities of Apple’s mixed reality headset.
According to the report, Apple and Sony were expected to announce this collaboration weeks ago, but the announcement was delayed. As part of the partnership, Apple will reportedly start selling Sony PSVR 2 controllers.
By 2028, Renault will offer simple, expressive and environmentally friendly electric vehicles that leave traditional designs behind.
Sony has reportedly been working on making its controllers compatible with the Vision Pro for months, with Apple reaching out to third-party developers to discuss ways to leverage the potential of the Sony VR controllers.
This partnership could be an opportunity for Vision Pro owners to expand the headset’s gaming capabilities. Right now, the number of games available for visionOS is quite limited, with the exception of games like Thrasher , which can only be played using gestures.
According to Gurman’s report, Apple won’t limit Sony’s devices to just games. The controllers will be used to navigate the VisionOS interface, allowing for precise control in apps like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop.
While this partnership looks promising, the future of the Vision Pro’s gaming ecosystem remains uncertain. The report notes that Vision Pro sales and Apple’s support from game publishers are not yet at the desired level.
