Apple Postpones Release of HomePod with Display Again

Earlier reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that Apple’s smart home device with a display would launch in March 2025. However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo now claims the release window has shifted to Q3 2025. The delay is attributed to the need for more time to refine the device’s operating system.

The hardware specifications are reportedly finalized. The HomePod with a display will feature:

  • A18 chip
  • A 6- or 7-inch display
  • Compatibility with Apple Intelligence
  • Support for Apple’s smart cameras, expected to launch in 2026.

Kuo predicts Apple will produce approximately 500,000 units of the device in the second half of 2025. If it performs well in the consumer market, production could scale into the millions.

The delay underscores Apple’s commitment to ensuring the software meets its high standards, even if it means postponing the launch. This strategy could help position the device as a standout in the competitive smart home market.
